On 20 September 2018, we held our first ASF fundraiser in recent times.

Much needed funds raised have gone towards creating this website, maintaining our help and information line, and continuing our popular social skills club.

Fifty guests arrived at The Groucho Club in London’s Soho, for cocktails, canapés and a jazz music reception. This was followed by a sumptuous sit down dinner with magicians, flame throwers and mind readers, laid on by the Groucho Club.

MC and expert auctioneer Andrew Eborn and his helpers used their considerable talents and charm to sell £1,200 worth of raffle tickets, and they raised over £35,000 in the auction. The top prize, a signed print of Kate Moss was donated by famous artist Chris Levine.  A one ounce gold bar was anonymously donated, and Waitrose was amongst others who made valuable contributions, gave their time freely and donated other prizes.  Actor Jules Robertson, who has Asperger’s Syndrome and is the son of author Kathy Lette, made a moving speech to draw attention to the need for help and support.

It was a fun and successful evening!
