Sponsored Walk 2005 - Every Step Counts            SPONSOR US

There are 1,500 kilometres separating Arles in Southern France from Santiago de Compostela in Spain, and it is not practical to try and cover all of this on foot. Thus a series of smaller walks has been devised to cover the distance, with the assistance of vehicles between these shorter walks.

We estimate that we will walk for seven hours a day, for seven days, at an average speed of 5 km an hour, so the maximum distance walked will not exceed 250 kms, divided up into 130 kms on the French side and 120 kms on the Spanish side.

A group of eight walkers will support each other in this endeavour in aid of the Asperger's Syndrome Foundation.

We are departing from Arles on Saturday 10th September and hope to arrive in Santiago on Sunday 18th September.

The Asperger's Syndrome Foundation hosted its official launch on 25th September 2003 at Banqueting House in Whitehall, and was featured in the January 2004 edition of Tatler. Over 500 guests enjoyed a stunning piano recital, following by a champagne and canapés reception. The launch not only raised awareness of Asperger's Syndrome, it also raised over £75,000 (after expenses) for the charity.
