About Us

The Asperger’s Syndrome Foundation is a small registered charity based in London, England.

Founded and first chaired by Beatrice Buisseret, it was established in 2002 and is currently chaired by one of our Trustees, Debra Tucker.

The Foundation was developed with the support of parents whose sons/daughters have Asperger’s Syndrome, who were experiencing a lack of specialist support and services.

Prior to the registration of the charity, the Founder, Beatrice Buisseret, raised funds to sponsor the first accredited Post Graduate course in Asperger’s Syndrome, offered at Sheffield Hallam University since 2003.

The charity is run on a non-profit basis. We rely on private donations and the great work of our volunteers.

What we do

We provide current and relevant information to all those seeking a better understanding of people with Asperger’s Syndrome and how best to support them. This includes research developments and available services and links.

In March 2010 a social skills group was set up for young adults on the spectrum. This takes place once a month in central London. For further details see our blog post HERE

We endeavour to answer all queries promptly.

If you would like to speak to a professional, experienced and trained in Asperger’s  Syndrome or Autistic Spectrum Conditions please contact us at our email address [email protected] and this can be arranged by telephone, skype or face-to-face.

The ASF now has a general ADVOCACY service with access to further specialist services. All enquiries in the first instance to  [email protected]
